GBV Assistant – Child Protection (6-month contract)

About the role
The GBV Assistant will support the delivery of high‑quality psychosocial and case‑management services for gender‑based violence survivors and children at risk in internally displaced person settings. Working under the Child Protection Project Officer, the role involves assessment, coordination, mentorship and reporting within a six‑month fixed‑term contract.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct child protection and GBV assessments using SC tools and the Inter‑Agency Child Protection Assessment Resource Toolkit.
- Adapt assessment instruments to capture the specific needs of GBV survivors and ensure disaggregated data analysis.
- Coordinate with national/district Child Protection Working Groups and external GBV actors to document findings and align interventions.
- Support the psychosocial wellbeing of children, survivors and families through case management and referral pathways.
- Lead prevention and response activities for sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) and GBV within project communities.
- Mentor, supervise and monitor implementing partners on GBV response and child protection standards.
- Integrate GBV cases into CPIMS, CFS and PSS systems and ensure alignment with broader emergency sectors.
- Oversee timely implementation of project activities and prepare monthly performance reports.
- Collaborate with the MEAL team to meet reporting and accountability requirements.
Required profile
- Experience in child protection, GBV response, or humanitarian programming.
- Proven ability to mentor and supervise staff or partner organisations.
- Knowledge of assessment tools, data collection and analysis in humanitarian contexts.
- Strong coordination skills with multiple stakeholders and sector working groups.
- Understanding of psychosocial support, case management and SEA/GBV prevention strategies.
Required skills
- Familiarity with CPIMS (Child Protection Information Management System).
- Experience with MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) reporting processes.
